Over the last 100 years, big changes happened to how we get our food and how we live our lives.
Farms grew very large, food became ultra-processed, and many people abandoned their traditional ways of eating, moving, and spending time together.
While our ancestors enjoyed foods grown in fertile, chemical-free soil that was rich in nutrients, today's produce often comes from soil that has been depleted of minerals and contaminated with pesticides and other harsh chemicals.
In contrast to modern diets, our ancestors consumed whole animal sources nose-to-tail, ensuring they benefited from a wider array of nutrients – like collagen – found in organ meats and bones.
Many of these nutrients are virtually non-existent in our diets today.
Today, we consume mostly man-made, artificial foods. These processed foods have many extra ingredients and preservatives added to them that our ancestors would not recognize as real food.
Back then, people just ate the simple, whole foods that nature provided — As a result, many of the health issues we see today were virtually non-existent.
While modern life is safer and more convenient than how our ancestors lived long ago, these changes have negatively affected our health.
Many of these lifestyle and environmental factors are simply a product of living in today's fast-paced world – so it’s not your fault.
But one thing is very clear:
We are not designed to live out of alignment with nature.
And it’s up to us to do something about it.
